Jobnobs is a mobile platform connecting college students with part-time jobs and skill-building opportunities, operated in India.

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
Required:
- Phone number - Account creation, OTP verification, login
- Name - Display on profile, communication with other users
Optional:
- Email - Account recovery, important notifications
- Profile photo - Personalization, helps employers/students recognize you
- Bio/description - Profile enhancement
- Department/year of study - Student classification
- College ID photo - "Verified Student" badge (earns trust, better job access)
- Business name, type, address - Employer profile display
Safety (user-initiated):
- Emergency contacts - SOS alerts during jobs
- Voice notes - Voice job posting, chat attachments
2.2 Information Generated Through Use
Activity & Progress:
- XP points, level, badges, streaks (gamification)
- Course completion progress
- Job completion history
- Ratings received (bidirectional: students rate employers, employers rate students)
Trust Score:
Your Trust Score is calculated from: verification status + courses completed + ratings + streaks + badges. It affects job visibility and payment release speed. This is not a credit score and is visible only to you and potential employers/workers.
Financial:
- Wallet balance
- Transaction history (amounts, dates, job references)
- Escrow status for active jobs
2.3 Location Information
When Browsing Jobs: Approximate location to show nearby jobs (displayed as "nearby", "short walk", etc.—not exact distance)
When Starting a Job: Precise GPS (within 50m) to verify you arrived at the job location
During Active Job: Real-time location so employer can see progress; enables safety features
Emergency/SOS: Precise location shared with your emergency contacts
Your Control: Disable location services in device settings. Some features (nearby jobs, GPS check-in) will not work without location.
Storage: Location data stored for 90 days after job completion for dispute resolution, then deleted.
2.4 Device Information

3. How We Use Your Information
- Provide the Service: Account management, job matching, payments, learning platform
- Safety: Emergency contacts, location sharing during jobs, incident reporting
- Payments: Process wallet deposits, job payments, withdrawals via Razorpay
- Improve the Platform: Usage patterns, feature prioritization, bug fixes
- Communications: Job alerts, streak reminders, important updates
We do NOT use your data for:
- Selling to advertisers
- Building advertising profiles
- Sharing with unrelated third parties
4. Information Sharing
4.1 With Other Users
Shared with Employers (when you apply for jobs): Name, photo, rating, badges, trust score
Shared with Students (when they view your job posting): Name, photo, rating
Shared with Employer Who Hired You (during active jobs only): Real-time location
Shared with Your Emergency Contacts (during jobs, if you enabled sharing): Location
Privacy Controls Available in Settings:
- Hide earnings from profile
- Hide from leaderboards
- Disable profile search indexing
4.2 With Service Providers
Supabase - Database, authentication, file storage
- Receives: Account data, messages, job records
Razorpay - Payment processing
- Receives: Name, phone, email for payment UI
Firebase (Google) - Push notifications
- Receives: Device tokens, notification content
Google Maps - Location services
- Receives: Coordinates for distance calculations
Important - Payment Data: Jobnobs does NOT store your bank account numbers, card numbers, or UPI PINs. All sensitive payment data is handled directly by Razorpay (PCI-DSS certified). We store only: last 4 digits (for display), Razorpay transaction IDs, and amounts.
4.3 Legal Requirements
We may share information when required by law, court order, or to protect safety.
5. Data Retention
Active Data (while you use Jobnobs):
- Account profile data - As long as account is active
- Messages - Until you delete them or account deletion
- Course progress and badges - As long as account is active
Financial Records (required by law):
- Transaction records - 7 years after transaction (Income Tax Act compliance)
- Payment details - 7 years (GST compliance)
- Invoices and receipts - 7 years (statutory requirement)
Operational Data:
- Job location data - 90 days after job completion (dispute resolution)
- Chat messages related to jobs - 90 days after job completion
- Check-in/check-out logs - 90 days
Analytics & Debugging:
- Crash logs and error reports - 90 days
- App usage analytics - 2 years (aggregated, anonymized)
After Account Deletion:
- Personal data - Permanently deleted within 30 days
- Financial records - Retained for 7 years (anonymized, regulatory compliance)
- Transaction IDs - Retained indefinitely (audit trail, no personal data)
6. Account Deletion
How to Delete: Settings > Account > Delete Account
What Happens:
Immediately (Soft Delete):
- Name changed to "[Deleted User]"
- Phone anonymized
- Email, photo, bio cleared
- Messages replaced with "[Message deleted]"
- Push notifications stop
After 30 Days (Hard Delete):
- All remaining data permanently removed
- Badges, progress, course data deleted
- Emergency contacts deleted
What We Keep (anonymized, no personal info): Transaction records (required for financial compliance)
You Cannot Delete While You Have:
- Active jobs in progress
- Pending applications
- Wallet balance (withdraw first)
Web Deletion: Available at jobnobs.com/delete-account if you uninstalled the app.
7. Your Rights
In the App:
- View all your stored data (Profile)
- Update/correct information
- Control location services
- Manage notifications
- Control profile visibility
- Block users
- Delete account
Via Email (support@jobnobs.com):
- Request data export
- Ask questions about your data

8. Data Security
- All data encrypted in transit (HTTPS)
- Database access controls (you can only see your own data)
- Payment data handled by PCI-compliant Razorpay
- OTP verification for login
- Session management with forced logout capability
We cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your phone secure and report suspicious activity.
9. Children
- Service for users 18+ (or 16+ with parental consent)
- We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16
- Contact us if you believe a child has registered
10. International Transfers
Your data may be processed in the United States through our service providers (Supabase, Firebase, Google Maps). These providers maintain security standards including:
- SOC 2 Type II compliance
- GDPR-compliant data processing agreements
- Standard contractual clauses for international transfers
11. Third-Party Services and Analytics
Analytics:
- Firebase Analytics (Google) - App usage, crash reporting. Data collected: App events, screen views, device info, crash reports. Privacy policy
- Supabase Analytics - Database usage patterns. Data collected: Query patterns (anonymized), storage usage. Privacy policy
Payment Processing:
- Razorpay - Payment transactions. Data shared: Name, email, phone for payment UI. Data NOT shared: Full card numbers, UPI PINs. Privacy policy
Maps & Location:
- Google Maps Platform - Data collected: Location coordinates, distance calculations. Privacy policy
Push Notifications:
- Firebase Cloud Messaging - Data collected: Device tokens. Privacy policy
We do NOT sell your personal information to any third party.
12. California Residents (CCPA Compliance)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

Sale of Personal Information: Jobnobs does NOT sell your personal information. We share data only as described in Section 4 (Information Sharing).
Verification: We will verify your identity before processing CCPA requests by confirming your email or phone number on file.
13. European Users (GDPR Compliance)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

14. India Users (DPDP Act Compliance)
For users in India, we comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act):
Data Fiduciary Obligations:
- We process personal data only for lawful purposes with your consent
- We collect only data that is necessary for the specified purpose
- We maintain accuracy of personal data and update it when informed
- We delete personal data when it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected
- We implement reasonable security safeguards to protect your data

- Right to Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or misleading data
- Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data
