Terms of Service
1. Agreement
By using Jobnobs, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
2. What Jobnobs Is (And Isn't)
Jobnobs IS:
- A technology platform connecting students with people who need tasks done
- A marketplace facilitating transactions between users
- A provider of learning content and skill verification
Jobnobs IS NOT:
- An employer, staffing agency, or labor contractor
- A party to any work agreement between users
- Responsible for supervising, directing, or controlling work
NO EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP exists between Jobnobs and any user, or between Task Posters and Workers because of this platform. Workers are independent contractors responsible for their own taxes.
3. Definitions
- "Platform": Jobnobs app and services
- "User": Anyone using the Platform
- "Student/Worker": Users who perform tasks
- "Task Poster/Employer": Users who post jobs
- "Job/Task": Work posted on the Platform
- "Escrow": Funds held by Jobnobs until job completion
- "Trust Score": Reputation metric based on verification, ratings, activity
- "Instant Job": Quick jobs with 30-second accept window
4. Eligibility
To use Jobnobs:
- You must be 18+ (or 16-17 with parental consent)
- You must verify your phone number
- You must have legal capacity to enter contracts
- You may have only one account
College verification is optional but unlocks benefits (faster payments, better Trust Score, access to exclusive jobs).
5. Platform Fees
Jobnobs charges fees to sustain operations:
Standard Fees:
- Standard job commission: 10% (deducted from worker payment)
- Verified student rate: 8%
- Instant job rate: 12%
- Subscribed employer rate: 5%
- Minimum fee: ₹5 per transaction
Additional Services:
- Featured job listings: ₹99-299
- Express withdrawal: ₹10
Fees may change with 30 days notice.
6. How Payments Work
The Flow:
- Job posted: Employer's funds held in Jobnobs escrow
- Job accepted: Work begins
- Job completed: Employer confirms (or auto-confirms after 24 hours)
- Hold period: Based on trust level
- Payment released: Platform fee deducted, remainder sent to Worker's wallet
Hold Periods:
- New users (< 3 jobs): 48 hours
- Standard users: 24 hours
- Trusted users (100+ jobs, 4.5+ rating): Immediate
Refund Window: 48 hours for cancellations/no-shows (auto-approved). Contested refunds require review.
Escrow Funds do not earn interest. Workers can withdraw to bank/UPI anytime.
7. Disputes
How to File: In-app within 7 days of job completion
Types: Payment issues, no-shows, quality concerns, harassment, other
Process:
- You file dispute
- Other party has 48 hours to respond
- Jobnobs reviews evidence
- Decision issued
Possible Outcomes:
- Full refund to Task Poster
- Partial refund (split)
- Full payment to Worker
- Warning to violating party
- Account suspension
Jobnobs' decision is final. By using the Platform, you accept our dispute resolution as the exclusive remedy for transaction disputes under ₹10,000.
8. Trust Score
Your Trust Score reflects reliability:
Components:
- Verification: College ID uploaded
- Courses: Learning completion
- Ratings: What others say about you
- Streaks: Consistent activity
- Badges: Achievements
Impact: Higher Trust Score = faster payments, better job visibility, access to premium postings.
Trust Score is not a credit score and doesn't affect anything outside Jobnobs.
9. Your Responsibilities
All Users:
- Provide accurate information
- Keep your account secure
- Follow applicable laws
- Treat others respectfully
- Pay through the Platform (not outside it)
Workers:
- Complete accepted jobs professionally
- Arrive on time
- Communicate changes
- Report safety concerns
Task Posters:
- Describe jobs accurately
- Offer fair, legal compensation
- Provide safe environment
- Pay through the Platform
10. Prohibited Activities
You may not:
Fraud: Fake profiles, false reviews, fraudulent claims
Fee Avoidance: Off-platform payments, multiple accounts
Harm: Harassment, discrimination, threats, theft
Illegal Activity: Unlawful jobs, drug-related activity
Consequences:
- Warning (minor first offense)
- Suspension (repeated issues)
- Permanent ban (severe violations)
- Legal action (fraud, theft)
11. Instant Jobs
Instant Jobs are quick, Uber-style opportunities:
- Task Poster posts urgent job
- Nearby students notified (500m-2km)
- 30-second accept window
- First to accept wins
- Higher fee (12%) applies
Special Rules:
- Must be immediately available
- Location sharing required
- Repeated no-shows = reduced priority
12. Safety
We Provide:
- Emergency contacts & SOS button
- Location sharing during jobs
- Check-in/check-out verification
- Incident reporting (can be anonymous)
- User blocking
In Emergencies: Contact local emergency services (100/112) first. Jobnobs safety features supplement—not replace—emergency services.
Disclaimer: Meeting strangers involves risk. We implement safety measures but cannot guarantee your safety.
13. Account Termination
You Can Delete: Settings > Account > Delete Account
We Can Terminate For:
- Fraud or illegal activity (immediate)
- Repeated violations (with notice)
- Inactive accounts (after 2 years)
After Termination:
- Access revoked
- Legitimate pending payments processed
- Data handled per Privacy Policy
14. What We Don't Guarantee
Jobnobs is provided "AS IS." We do not guarantee:
- Job availability
- Worker availability or quality
- Accuracy of user information
- Uninterrupted service
- Specific outcomes
15. Limitation of Liability
Our Maximum Liability for any claim is the greater of:
- Fees you paid us in the past 12 months, OR
- ₹5,000
We Are Not Liable For:
- Actions of other users
- Quality of work performed
- Disputes between users
- Lost profits or data
- Indirect or consequential damages
- Service interruptions
You Assume Risk of using a platform to connect with strangers for in-person tasks.
16. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold harmless Jobnobs from claims arising from:
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of others' rights
- Your violation of laws
- Disputes with other users
- Your tax obligations
17. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms. Significant changes = 30 days notice via email/app. Continued use = acceptance.
18. Governing Law & Indian Regulatory Compliance
18.1 Governing Law
- Law: India
- Jurisdiction: Courts of competent jurisdiction in India
- Disputes: Negotiation → Mediation → Arbitration (Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996) → Litigation
18.2 Information Technology Act, 2000
Jobnobs operates in compliance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its amendments, including:
- IT (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011
- IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021
As an intermediary, we:
- Maintain appropriate security practices
- Provide grievance redressal mechanisms
- Cooperate with law enforcement when legally required
- Remove unlawful content upon receiving valid legal notice
18.3 Goods and Services Tax (GST)
- Jobnobs is registered under GST laws of India
- Platform fees charged are inclusive of applicable GST (currently 18%)
- GST invoices available upon request
- Workers are responsible for their own GST compliance if their earnings exceed the threshold limit (currently ₹20 lakhs per annum)
- Task Posters may claim input tax credit on platform fees if eligible
18.4 Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Compliance
Our payment processing adheres to RBI guidelines:
- All payments processed through RBI-licensed payment aggregators (Razorpay)
- Compliance with Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007
- Escrow funds maintained in designated nodal accounts per RBI guidelines
- No interest earned on escrow - funds released per platform rules
- Customer grievance redressal as per RBI Ombudsman Scheme for Digital Transactions
18.5 Consumer Protection Act, 2019
- Platform operates as a marketplace facilitating transactions between users
- Users have rights under the Consumer Protection Act for disputes regarding services
- Grievance Officer details provided in "Contact" section
- E-commerce rules compliance for fairness in pricing and service delivery
- No unfair trade practices or misleading advertisements
18.6 Aadhaar
- We do not collect or store Aadhaar numbers
- Any Aadhaar-based verification (if implemented) will comply with Aadhaar Act, 2016

19. Miscellaneous
- If any part is unenforceable, the rest remains valid
- Not enforcing a term doesn't waive it
- You can't transfer your account; we can transfer ours
